Love one another as I have loved you. John 13:34

Rev. Mary Kate Schroeder

Dear friends,

May God's peace be with you!

I want to personally welcome you to CU Boulder, and to Canterbury Colorado, or Episcopal Ministries to CU Boulder! My name is Mary Kate Schroeder, and I am the Priest-in-Charge at St. Aidan's and also the interim Chaplain for Canterbury Colorado. I take great joy in the privilege of serving Christ in my ministry with Canterbury Colorado and at the University of Colorado, and I hope that you will be a part of that in some way. I look forward to meeting students in many ways, be it at our worship or weekly study, or I'm happy to meet you for coffee on campus, at the UMC or in my office during the week.

Having grown up in Boulder, I too left for college, just as many of you have traveled to attend the university here. This is a great town to explore, to grow, and to live out a wonderful and life-changing season in your life. I became a true believer in Christ while I was in college, so that time in one's life is particularly close to my heart, and I understand some of the challenges of learning and struggling with faith on campus.

We (Canterbury Colorado) welcome all who are seeking connection with God, with other people, and with a faith community, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. We are people who grew up Christian and unbelieving, Episcopalian and many other denominations, questioning and sure, and everything in between! There is a place for you here. We experience community primarily through our Sunday evening worship (5pm) and supper (6pm) that take place at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, which is across from the Engineering Center on Colorado Avenue. This is a great place to ask questions, to worship, and to be grounded in God as a student. Life on campus and beyond is complicated, and we want to support you in your life of faith and its growth. Faith is not separate from life, but is integrated into every part of who you are, and there are many ways of being Christians in the world.

Our worship is usually Eucharist (Holy Communion). We also have other opportunities to get together during the week, including study, fellowship, and service.

May God bless you today and always!

With God's abounding joy and abiding mercy,

The Rev. Mary Kate Schroeder

Rector, St. Aidan's Episcopal Church
